Reduction of Bus Service if Metro Shortfall Not Solved

Metro is facing a 17% reduction in service due to budget shortfalls in the 2012-13 budget. This document shows a possible scenario for eliminating 600,000 hours of transit service over the next two years. It shows our north end buses 67, 68, 72 and 73 could be eliminated. Metro is making a proposal for a congestion reduction charge of $20 per King County vehicle to avoid these cuts.

The Metropolitan King County Council’s Transportation, Economy and Environment Committee will host three special evening hearings to hear public testimony on the proposed transit service reduction and the Metro Transit budget crisis. These meetings are an opportunity for you to learn about the proposals and weigh in on the future of Metro transit. The meeting in Seattle is:

Tuesday, July 12, 6:00 p.m.
King County Council Chambers
516 Third Avenue, 10th Floor, Seattle
