Man Charged in Pinehurst Indecent Exposure Incident

Thanks in (large) part to an observant Pinehurst resident who was willing to get involved, the police have arrested and charged a man in the recent series of indecent exposure incidents, including one involving two 13 year old girls at Pinehurst Playfield. See today’s Seattle Times article.

Look in the comments section of our original post about the incident for a first-hand description of what our neighbor did.

This is proof-positive that paying attention, concern for neighbors, and getting involved in our neighborhood pay off.  Way to go, Eric – thanks!  And thanks also to the girls who described the man for the sketcher.

Thanks Nancy. Well, here is the really interesting thing. It turns out that I knew the guy! I think that he recognized me before I did him and immediately pulled up his hood and put his face down. But get this: he sold me an amplifier a few years ago at Guitar Center in Kirkland (where he worked as a sales person)! I really feel bad for him. Although he is sick, he is not a bad person and he is an intelligent and competent human being. I hope he gets the help he needs to control his sexual impulses, pays his debt to society (whatever time is involved),apologizes for his appalling behavior and becomes a contributing member of society again.

Oh yeah, one more thing. In the Seattle Times article, they were nice enough to say that I am 53 years old. However, I am actually 58 in a few weeks.

Thanks Eric for your willingness to take action when something seemed suspicious and your willingness to be involved. I think this is crucial to neighborhood safety and improvement!
