At our last council meeting we had a guest speaker talk about grants for community building projects. Here is an opportunity to learn more about the process of submitting a grant to the Neighborhood Matching Fund.
April 17, 2012 (Seattle, WA) – The first of three workshops offered by Seattle Department of Neighborhoods Neighborhood Matching Fund will occur this Thursday, April 19, from 5:45 – 7:45 p.m. at the Douglass Truth Library, 2300 E. Yesler Way. This workshop is for neighborhood groups interested in applying to the Large Project Fund which provides up to $100,000 in matching funds for community-building projects. Attendance at one of the three workshops is required in order to submit an application.

The Neighborhood Matching Fund (NMF) Program awards matching funds for projects initiated, planned, and implemented by community members in partnership with Seattle Department of Neighborhoods. Its overall goal is to build stronger and healthier neighborhoods through community involvement and engagement. Every award is matched by a neighborhood’s contribution of volunteer labor, donated materials, in-kind professional services, or cash.

Hm, not sure what you mean. There’s no date in the headline. The announcement is dated April 17 in bold; is that what you’re thinking is the wrong date? At any rate, you’re right, the workshop date is April 19.
