Good Design Tour – Date TBD

Update: 2/4 – We are working to reschedule this for a weekend afternoon so that we will be better able to see the designs we are using as examples. Stay tuned for more information soon.

What is good design? What types of buildings would you like to see in Pinehurst? What design guidelines currently apply to Pinehurst? What is the design review process and when is a developer required to go through design review? What can we as neighbors do to make an impact on the designs of new buildings going up in our neighborhood?

Join your neighbors and members of Pinehurst Planning and Development Group on a tour of some examples of good design. We will meet at 7 PM. We are working out the details and will have more information soon.

If you are interested, contact Renee for more information.

Thank you to Brad Green and Lisa Delude for making this happen!

Good design is a great idea–if it means keeping future buildings in scale and as green as possible but not a whole lot more.

From my experience as city beat and port beat reporter for the Port Townsend/Jefferson County Leader, however, I can tell you that restrictive design review boards bog down progress and discourage developers–and therefore jobs and money–from coming to Pinehurst.

So by all means, let’s keep a close eye on the developer. But let’s not make a bunch of rules to produce cookie-cutter buildings in Pinehurst.

If we wanted everything to look alike, we could move to Bellevue.
