Seattle City Council Candidate Survivor

Campaign events, while very important, are not always the most fun way to spend an evening. Well, most campaign events other than those sponsored by the Washington Bus and The Stranger.

Last night, I attended Candidate Survivor at the Showbox in which candidates for Seattle City Council competed to last through three rounds audience voting to be the last ones standing on stage. They performed haiku about themselves. They had a talent section. And, they had to answer questions such as, “Have you ever been without health insurance,” or “Have you ever skinny dipped in Lake Washington?”

One of my personal favorite parts of the event was a dance off between Position 8 candidates Bobby Forch and Jordan Royer. Forch clearly excelled, but Royer held his own.
