Hands On! Skills-share Fair Feb. 6

HandsOn2016What is a skills fair? It’s a day of sharing practical skills with our neighbors – there will be short workshops on a wide variety of skills, from knitting to basic carpentry to soil building. The day will include a homemade soup luncheon with speakers Anne Biklé and David Montgomery, authors of  ‘The Hidden Half of Nature’.

When: Saturday, February 6, 2016, Skills workshops from 10 am -5 pm, Lunch at 12:30 pm
Where: Meadowbrook Community Center, 10517 35th Ave NE

This is the sixth annual fair. It’s co-created by Meadowbrook Community Center and Sustainable NE Seattle. The mission of Sustainable NE Seattle is to support the transition of our community toward resilience and sustainability:

Building resilience – If we can build a neighborhood where we know how to take care of our needs close to home we are more likely to do well in difficult times

Growing Community – If we work together, share resources, eat and celebrate together, our community fabric grows stronger!
