Interested in What Seattle is Doing to Prepare For Climate Change?

seattlelogoThe City of Seattle has released a draft plan that will tell you more than you would ever want to know about how it is preparing for the impacts of climate change. It is a pretty high level document that lays out a range of strategies for how it will prioritize actions and investments in order to ensure Seattle’s economy, public health, and built infrastructure remain strong in the midst of a changing climate. They are currently seeking comments until January 6.

It’s really great reading if you are a policy wonk, climate scientist, or an engineer. It’s also really informative even if you are not. The sections that are likely the most interesting to you are the ones that talk about “Community Preparedness” and “What You Can Do”, but you are more than welcome to comment on any or all of the sections.
