North Precinct Advisory Council Report – December 2020

Read North Precinct Captain Stampfl’s December report here for news about how covid-19 has affected the precinct, and how the 2021 SPD budget may affect the North Precinct. He also has tips to prevent package theft.

Some crime statistics:

North Precinct crime is down 9% compared to the same time last year.

Motor Vehicle Thefts: Motor Vehicle Theft is up 27% from this time last year, with a total of 141 cars stolen from the North Precinct jurisdiction.

Robbery: We are down 18%, showing 31 incidents compared to 38 last year.

Others: Aggravated Assaults (-7%, 39 compared to 42), Rape (Sexual Assault would be a better description in my opinion, 0% , 3 compared to 3), Arson (+100%, 6 incidents compared to 3 last year, Burglary (+4%, 254 compared to 244), and Theft (-15%, 624 compared to 733).

Captain Stampfl also shared an updated list of resources – who to call for which public safety problems.

Also in the report are updates from City Attorney’s Office and King County Prosecuting Attorney’s Office. Jury trials are suspended again due to the pandemic, and that is causing a big backlog of felony cases in King County. Check out the graph.

Again, the report is here.
