Pinehurst Safeway rezone delay?

I just spoke with Michael Jenkins at Seattle City Council Central Staff regarding the status of the Pinehurst Safeway rezone discussions. I had expected to see it on the City Council Planning Land Use and Neighborhoods (PLUNC) agenda for this Wednesday, September 23rd. Unfortunately, there are some delays in the preparation of the ordinance for the actual rezone and the Property Use and Development Agreement (PUDA) due to the high volume of land use issues being discussed by Council.

Michael hopes to have the findings, conclusion and decision ready for this Wednesday’s PLUNC meeting. If they are not ready by then, the Pinehurst Safeway rezone may be discussed at the October 8th PLUNC meeting (which is already scheduled to be extremely full). If not the October 8th meeting, then the Pinehurst Safeway rezone may not be discussed until December, after the Council budget sessions.

I will update this post as I know more.

UPDATE:
The Pinehurst Safeway rezone is scheduled as the first item for discussion at Wednesday’s PLUNC meeting, September 23 at 9 AM in Council chambers at Seattle City Hall. It sounds like PLUNC may vote on a recommendation to full Council this week. However, the full Council vote will likely not occur until October 19th.
