Trees! At Thornton Creek Alliance Meeting

ThorntonCreekAllianceFor the next couple of meetings Thornton Creek Alliance will focus on trees in our neighborhoods.  How do you know when is a tree hazardous?  What do you do?  How can we protect and preserve as many of our wonderful trees as possible?  You will get answers and useful information at the spring meetings.  Additionally, spring is when TCA plans and holds elections and develops the annual work plan.  It need your ideas and input.  Come and have a say!

Both tree meetings will be at this time and place:

7:15pm-9:00pm

Sue Nicol is a Consulting Arborist and Horticulturist specializing in tree and garden management in the greater Seattle area. Clients include homeowners, municipalities, architects, landscape architects, developers, contractors, and condo associations. ISA Tree Risk Assessment Qualified. Certified Sustainable Building Advisor (CSBA). Green Gardening Program 2009 – Present – Developed curriculum and presented tree care topics to professional audiences (Pests and Diseases, Fruit Tree Management, Root Rots, Organic Tree Management, Basic Soils, etc.)

Trees, Part II, will also be TCA’s annual meeting on Thursday, April, 21st.

Cass Turnbull of PlantAmnesty (http://www.plantamnesty.org/) fame will speak on “No Room for Old Trees” – why it’s important to protect and defend our tree canopy, open spaces and parks, particularly in response to increased density.

TCA will also vote on its annual work plan and hold elections.  It needs new people for the board and to contribute ideas to the work plan.  Please communicate your interests to them.   Contact: ruthalice@comcast.net
