All the chairs have been given away. Thanks to those who responded and made nice donations!
When the Pinehurst shelter house was remodeled this year, about a dozen metal folding chairs were removed and put in storage at Meadowbrook Community Center. MCC, which manages the use of our shelter house, has stocked it with more stackable [...] The opening of newly remodeled Pinehurst Playfield Shelter House was celebrated at Saturday’s Pinehurstfest. There was a ribbon cutting ceremony, short speeches by dignitaries involved in the project, and delicious carrot cake. In addition, Garth Ferber stood by during Pinehurstfest to talk to people interested in the project. You can see a fact sheet on [...] Remodel is nearing completion and it is looking great. It will be like having a brand new up to date building! Here is a photo looking up at the new lights and windows and a construction shot out front. We should be able to have a grand opening party this spring. The building will be [...] Hooray! The bids came in, and the chosen contractor’s bid was less than the budgeted amount. Parks Department has given notice to the contractor to begin work. We should have a grand shelterhouse by the end of the year. A good excuse to celebrate? You may remember that Lorna Mrachek has been working with the community and Seattle Parks and Recreation on a redesign of the Pinehurst Playfield Shelterhouse. We are nearing the finish line! The remaining schedule is: Oct 27 - Nov 3 – Daily Journal of Commerce advertisement for bids Nov 4 – pre-bid inspection at the shelterhouse [...] The Pinehurst Community Council will he holding its first meeting of the year on January 25th from 7:00PM to 8:30PM at Amante Pizza, 12319 Roosevelt Way NE.
